The Annual SPC Old Boys Golf Tournament

This resumed after a 3 year break and was held at Judgeford Golf Club.

28 players attended and 9 had to pull out at the last minute.

16 were old boys and 12 Judgeford members filled the field.

The greens had been cored 2 weeks prior to play but the greenkeepers mowed and rolled the greens especially for us. They were too fast for many but generally the course was presented in great order. Many thanks to Adam Church and Perry Hayman.

There were novelty prizes for nearest the pin, most accurate drive, and a second nearest the pin in divisions.

Five trophys were played for with Mike Thomson winning the Best Gross with 79.

Mons Tom Duffy Cup was won by Frank Bury.

Hibernian Cup was won by Kevin Temperton.

Joe Cullen Rosebowl was won by Terry McCarthy.

Jesse Kingham Cup won by Evan Bayly.

Everyone else won a prize as well.

People seemed to have a good day and were well fed and watered after play.

Many thanks to our sponsors Countdown Supermarkets and to Mana Pharmacy with additional prizes from Peter Burke.

Next years competition will be held on a Wednesday in late March so book it in your dairy.

L to R: Mick Thomson (Ray Strickland Trophy), Terry McCarthy (Fr. Joe Cullen Rose Bowl), Evan Bayly (Fr. Jesse Kingham Challenge Cup), Frank Bury (Mons Tom Duffy Golden Jubilee Cup), Kevin Temperton (Hibernian Cup)
